Pedal for Heroes USA was created in 2011 when it was recognized that there were not any veterans organizations that promoted healing through fitness. It was seen as an opportunity to bridge that gap by supporting veterans and educate the civilian population about the needs of vets as well as support the families of the fallen.

The CRF Board adopted the strategic plan at their December board meeting by Blue Skies Consulting. Blue Skies Consulting was a group from the Mandel Center for Non profit Management. CRF was chosen from many applicants for the program valued at $15,000.
The mission, vision and values were updated through the process and are now posted on the CRF website.
A friendly reminder: The new Safety Manual (SaM) requires all shells to be accompanied by a launch beginning December 1st until April 15th for cold water rules. Although the rules begin Dec. 1st, the Safety Committee delayed the start to Dec. 3rd due to the current weather forecast.
