On September 20, 2014, Cleveland Rowing Foundation hosted the Head of the Cuyahoga regatta. More than 400 rowers representing 42 clubs competed in a variety of races. Thanks to all of the staff and volunteers who made this regatta a success. The Plain Dealer ran a nice spread and photographs are posted on the CRF website. Take a look…
The boat house is a bit on the crowded side, isn’t it? Some of the clubs have purchased new equipment and the racks are just about filled. CRF has purchased a storage facility that is scheduled to be erected sometime in October. This building will hold singles and doubles making way for locker room and shower facilities to be built in the area where these boats are now stored. Rowers who are accustomed to changing clothes in their cars will be able to doff their duds in more civilized surroundings. The dock is also crowded, particularly in the evenings when scholastic, collegiate and adult rowers are present. Thanks to all for their patience and cooperation, particularly during busy times.
The Bow Ball will be taking place in February 2015, so please mark your calendars. If you would like to volunteer on the Bow Ball Committee, please drop me a line: firstname.lastname@example.org. CRF hopes that each member organization will contribute time, purchase a table or two, and donate something special for the silent auction. Proceeds from the Bow Ball will be used for construction of the locker room/shower facility.
If you have an idea regarding how CRF may enhance your rowing experience, please let Kirk Lang or me know.
See you on the water!
