2. Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the annual meeting were approved with the exception of the spelling of Adelbert Gym.

3. Reports from Committees
Fund Raising/Site
Kathryn reported that two-way communication needed to be established between all committee chairs and the growing database of volunteers who have responded to the boathouse brochure.  She will develop a mailing to inform all volunteers who is heading up each activity (e.g., youth rowing, fund-raising, regattas, etc.), and how to contact them to help out.
Need to talk to Bill Braun and to Forest City Development (Brian Ratner), the landlord about our site and our lease before the next meeting.  Kathryn will follow up with Bill before the next meeting.

Youth/New Programs
David Werner knows about a program called "Church in the City".   This is where we could get participants for our summer youth rowing program.
Pat Monroe has more information about this program.  Dave will contact him and see if he can attend the March meeting to tell us what his plans are.

Communications
Jeff Jensen and Renee Trivisonno are going to work on resurrecting the newsletter.  They will start working on getting mailing lists from all the rowing associations.
This will be a good way to market the foundation and all its member organizations.
It is our goal to have a quarterly distribution.
Will need communication contacts from all the associations.  Should get those names at our next meeting.

Safety
No formal report.
Questions posed regarding the safety re-certification program.  Is the safety test going to be redone?
Need to get an update from Tim Marcovy at the next meeting.  Hopefully Harold will see Tim at the WRRA meeting on Monday.
There are some questions regarding the period for which safety officer tests are valid.  When does this expire?  After one year?

Equipment
No formal report.

Club Racing Events
At the March meeting David Werner will talk specifically on what is going to take place this year for the Head of the Cuyahoga.
David also threw out an idea of possibly having a junior board of youth members with one adult supervising and have them responsible one aspect of the fall regatta.

4. Reports from Member Organizations

Beaumont
No report.
CWRU
No report.
John Carroll University
JCU is leaving for spring training in Tampa Fla. Friday March 3rd and will be returning March 12th.  In preparation for the trip, they had repairs done to the trailer and made some changes so that their launches will fit in the back half of the trailer.  While in Fla. They plan to compete in the "Presidents Cup".  When they return they are tentatively planning on an early race this season at Bucknell University the weekend of March 25th.  They are excited for spring training and to get back on the water.
St. Ignatius
St. Ignatius is on the water training.  They are getting some new equipment, i.e, boats.  They will check out space for the new equipment at the boathouse for storage purposes.  Mayor White's wife, Joanne Boscia, through one of her board positions has donated money ($5-$10K) to St. Ignatius for new equipment.  We need to capitalize on this relationship to benefit all of rowing in Cleveland.
Shaker
Working on keeping rowers committed to the winter training program.  Anxious for the weather to break so they can get back out on the water.
WRRA
Held their annual Captains Meeting for the SRL last Monday February 22nd.  The meeting was well attended by almost all crews and it was very well run.  George, Gwen, and Misty seem to have a good handle on things and are looking forward to the upcoming season.  First installments are due March 15th.
Also information is available for corporate sponsors for the upcoming season.  Additional information can be obtained by contacting Misty Matin at 216-621-9772.  Next WRRA meeting is Monday March 6th at 6 o'clock at Edisons.

5. Boathouse Operations Report
No report.

6. Treasurer's Report
Harry Fisher, the new treasurer is quickly getting acclimated.  He met with Sharon and is going through things and getting organized as quickly as possible.
Harry is also trying to get a pro bono audit from a local accounting firm.
A P/L statement will be provided at the next meeting.

7. Old Business
The Hammer was held at Adelbert Gym at Case a couple of weeks ago.  It was quite successful, with roughly 130 rowers competed.  Thanks to all who helped out and lent equipment for the event.

8. New Business
A new WRRA website is being developed by Bob Gannon.  The domain will be wrra-rowing.org.  Jeff Jensen will contact Bob before the next meeting to talk about how the Foundation can assist in its development.

Is the boathouse officially open??  It was not officially closed down last fall.  We need to sort this out.

We must get more people in attendance for our next meeting.  Input from everyone is very important.

Harry Fisher remarked that we need to get experienced individuals to assist us in our fund raising efforts.  We need some basic fund raising help.  Kathryn and Harry will talk before the next meeting about how to make this happen.

At the next meeting we will discuss CPR training, and if we should sponsor a rowing-exclusive session.

9. Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 7:15.
The next meeting is March 28th at 6 o'clock.

Minutes are respectfully submitted by:
Jeff Jensen, WRRF Secretary
