  1. Approval of Minutes

The minutes from the 6-27-2000 meeting were approved.

  1. Reports from Committees

Dave Anderson reported Kathryn Kaczmarski and Don Saer met with Kelly Jordan from QuadPro Management. Kathryn will embellish more at next months meeting.

The Scaravelli property discussions are proceeding. Nothing significant to report at this time though.

Tim Marcovy reported that Pat Monroe has said the Summer youth program is going very well. 21 kids with 9 returnees have signed up for the second session. From all indications things are as good as they have ever been.

Jeff will try to talk to Renee Trivisonno to see what if anything is going to be done with the newsletter. Renee has started a new job and this has consumed her time over the past few months.

Tim Marcovy reported no safety incidents. There is about $3000.00 in the equipment fund and we need to discuss and agree upon a maintenance contract for launch motor maintenance. We will discuss the details at next months meeting. The launch motors are in need of some serious maintenance. Every club and school has its own engine and maintains them. Tim Marcovy will talk to Don Saer about the engine upkeep and the problems with them. We can talk about what to do with a maintenance contract and a possible surcharge for the schools and associations.

No report except next meeting we will try and resolve the launch engine situations.

Dave Werner discussed the Head of the Cuyahoga (HOTC). Things appear to be progressing smoothly. Dave will be mailing Dave Anderson this years’ budget.

Race packets will be mailed this week.

Merrill Lynch, House of La Rose, and GNC Health Sports are some of our sponsors. Race packets are included in the board minute binder if anyone wishes access to them.

There has been interest expressed from schools and individuals that did not participate in previous HOTC’s. Registration is proceeding nicely.

Volunteers are needed in assisting with communications.

The next meeting is scheduled for 8-8-2000 at 5:30. Representation from all associations is required. Active.com is handling the registration and it can be done online.

There is some interest from the NCAA regarding holding the Women’s National championships in Cleveland. The chances of it actually happening is very remote but there is interest.

SRL is in full swing going extremely well. The NARRC was last weekend and it was a raving success. Thanks to all of those that participated.

There are 30-35 competitive rowers that are practicing weekly and doing extremely well in competitions.

They are probably going to have a number of entries at the Head of the Charles.

  1. Boathouse Operations Report

Don Saer via Tim Marcovy reports that both boathouses are extremely clean and in nice order. Please keep up the good work.

  1. Treasurer’s Report

Harry Fisher presented the financial statements and the details are included in the minutes. Anyone wanting specifics can contact Harry or Jeff Jensen.

Harry is researching the fact that John Carroll may have missed an assessment in 1999. He is researching it and Jackie Virant is looking into it as well.

The Wine Bar next to Great Lakes Brewery is the potential new site. Kathryn is looking into that site for the 9-26-2000 meeting.
