CRF U19 FALL PROGRAM with "the driven rower"!

This fall, CRF will offer a U19 scholastic elite sculling program in partnership with The Driven Rower, in order to provide high performance rowers who may not have a traditional season a way to stay in touch with the water on a more high performance level.

The program will begin September 15th and run for eight weeks until November 7, 2020 (weather permitting) and will provide opportunities to U19 rowers to train in singles and use the skills developed to improve their overall fitness.

Conceptually, the camp will be broken up into 3-4 learning sections with the main overall focus on understanding the power curve and how to develop the curve on the erg/land and transferring it onto the water, as well as, the dynamics of the boat moving through the water and how their movements dictate the run of the boat. A key element of this program is to teach the athletes the tools to become skilled rowers, and how drills are used to develop their application of power no matter their size.

The main goal of the program is to offer additional coaching outside of the preset practice times member organizations are already conducting. Coaches will work with athletes in smaller groups who are interested in pursuing college rowing and do not want to miss a step even though the season has been cut back.

Each team size is capped at 6 rowers for maximum individual focus from the coaching staff. Rowers will train at CRF in singles 2 days per week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from approximately 5:45 a.m. to 7:15 a.m.

Eligible rowers include junior and seniors athletes with previous sculling experience and a desire to row in college.

Coaches for this program include Nate Shoemaker (Laurel Head Coach), Kirk Lang (Western Reserve Rowing Association Head Coach), Alan Meininghaus (The Driven Rower Founder), and several former Division I / Ivy League guest rowers.

Cost: $150 in addition to your current member organization fall program fee. ($350 for rowers not currently rowing in a fall member organization program)
